I had a hell of a time getting the right Clutch kit from the auto parts store. It literally took over a month and a lot of back and forth with the wrong pieces. My gearbox has a shaft with 23 teeth and is a 5 speed manual but there is also a 6 speed gearbox with 28 teeth. For some reason their system would never show that their exists a 5 speed with a shaft of 23 teeth. Still to this day i'm not sure why it was so complicated to get the right clutch kit.
here is a picture of the AC50 with adapter and new clutch installed
The other issue we had was marrying the ac50 motor and gearbox cause the quattro unit was in the way. So we had to take off the quattro partially then get the motor on it. But we finally got that done as well. You can see the Motor bracket on the left that I also bought from Canev. We will eventually need to add another custom bracket piece in order to attach it to the car original motor support. You can also see that i painted the gearbox blue with a Engine spray paint.
Here is the Motor and gearbox finally in place.
Next up is thinking about battery placement. I still need to order the Lifepo4 cells from a supplier in China and probably will go with 36 3.2 160ah cells. This should give me around 80km range. Also i want to try to keep the rear seats cause i want to be able to have my younger son drive with me. Lots of custom battery box designing to do... luckily i have my dad who is an expert at metal working and welding... :)
Hi, I'm just wondering if you completed the TT project and how it went. I have a 2001 TT Roadster I have had since new and am considering converting it as well.
