Tear Down Begins!

So i was fortunate that i was able to secure a large garage that allowed me to perform most of the legwork of tearing down all the parts i didn't need. They also had a car lift that is capable of handling 9000lbs so lifting my little tt will be a breeze.

After securing the tt i researched n the Internet other people who may have converted an audi tt as well and found Allen in the U.S who converted his tt. Looks like he did a great job from what i read and saw through his pictures. I would love to see a more recent post from him on how the tt is doing.

My father (he's a autobody expert by trade among other things) is helping me during this conversion process without which I probably wouldn't be doing it myself. We put the tt on the lift and started to remove the exhaust system. I will only be able to work on the tt once a week as i have a full-time job so a few hours on Saturday morning is all she wrote. This will be a long process :(

The Gas tank for the Audi tt Quattro was a real pain in the A@& to remove. It snakes around the Quattro drive in the rear. We had to eventually remove the quattro drive down far enough to be able to get the pieces of the thick plastic tank out. This was back in June of 2015.

Here is a nice view of some of the parts taken out
With the tank, exhaust and front removed time to take out the engine next
